Freddy’s first buck! It was the second day of Pennsylvania rifle season, and Freddy, my youngest brother, and I we’re headed to the corner stand. It was a cold morning, and we hadn’t seen anything yet, so I lightly rattled. Several minutes later, we spotted him down to our right, I had Fred shift his position and get the gun pointed in the right direction. He came to 30 yards and stopped quartering towards us. I had to whisper in Fred’s ear, AIM IN FRONT OF THE SHOULDER! Fred pulled the trigger and my Remington 30-06 thundered nearly knocking the Buck over backwards. The buck did a huge bronco kick and ran down the mountain then flipping over backwards and dying right in sight of the treestand. A wonderful hunt!
